- Eye Health and Professional Care
By submitting an order, you confirm that:
- You have had your eyes tested and eye health checked within the last two years by a qualified optometrist or ophthalmologist.
- You have had a Contact Lens Aftercare examination within the last year.
- You are proficient in the insertion and removal of contact lenses.
- You currently have no ocular irritation, discomfort, infection, or any other eye-related problems.
You understand that regular eye examinations are essential to maintain ocular health and safe contact lens use.
- Personal Responsibility
You acknowledge and agree that:
- You take full responsibility for your ocular health and the suitability of the contact lenses or glasses you order.
- You release Murray & Haggerty Opticians from all liability relating to any complications or harm arising from the use or misuse of contact lenses or other optical products.
- You agree to follow all professional advice and manufacturer instructions regarding the safe use, cleaning, and replacement of your lenses.
- Safe Handling and Hygiene
You confirm that you:
- Do not swim while wearing contact lenses.
- Do not use saunas or steam rooms while wearing contact lenses.
- Do not use tap water or any other non-sterile liquid to handle or store contact lenses.
- Use contact lenses strictly as recommended, following the manufacturer’s prescribed wearing schedule and disposal interval.
- For monthly contact lenses, you disinfect them using an appropriate disinfecting solution and use a new contact lens case every time a new pair is opened.
- You do not store contact lenses in the bathroom, to avoid bacterial contamination.
- Risks and Limitations
You understand that:
- Contact lenses are a medical device and must be used responsibly.
- Incorrect or prolonged use of contact lenses can result in serious eye complications, including permanent vision loss.
- Murray & Haggerty Opticians cannot be held responsible for adverse outcomes resulting from non-compliance with recommended usage or hygiene practices.
- Orders and Supply
- All contact lenses are supplied according to the prescription details provided by you.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that the prescription provided is accurate and current.
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order if the information provided appears incomplete, inconsistent, or clinically unsafe.
- Liability
Except as required by law, Murray & Haggerty Opticians shall not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage resulting from improper use, handling, or storage of contact lenses or optical products.
- Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.
